How we look after your family.

Ghaya is built for children, so parents set everything up and decide who sees what. This page explains it in plain words. The full details are in our privacy policy.

What we keep about a child

A first name, a birthday (so the app can suit their age), a colour and a picture style. In Arabic, a parent can also say whether to address them as a boy or a girl. That's it. Children don't give us an email address, and a parent can add one only from age 13, to let a teen sign in on their own.

Everything else is what your family does in the app: tasks, goals, rewards, notes, chat, and any photos or voice notes you choose to add.

How children join

A parent creates each child's profile. To set up a child's phone or iPad, the parent shows a code that lasts 15 minutes, and the child chooses a PIN.

The PIN stops a brother or sister opening the wrong profile on a shared iPad. The family's account itself is protected by the parents' Apple or Google sign-in.

Who sees what

PersonWhat they see
ParentsEvery child in the family and everything they do.
Helpers (Plus)Only the children parents choose. They never see prices they can't change, other people's email addresses or invite codes.
A childOnly their own tasks, goals, rewards and points. The app is designed so that a child's device only receives that child's things.
Brothers and sistersNothing, unless parents turn on sharing wins. Then they see goals reached, rewards got and badges, and can cheer. Never points, tasks or notes. Each child can keep their wins to themselves.
Other familiesOnly what a parent chooses to publish to the families' library, and never children's names or photos.

The families' library

Only parents can publish, and only a task or goal they saved: words and points, no photos, no times, no names. Parents publish under a screen name unless they choose to show their own.

Before anything goes up, Ghaya checks it automatically for names, phone numbers, emails and links, then an AI check reads it. Anything flagged waits for a person on our team. Anyone can report an item, and grown-ups can hide an author they don't want to see.

Children never see the website library.

AI in Ghaya

An AI check helps review what parents publish. Some replies from our team may be drafted with an AI assistant, and they're labelled when they are.

Coming later on Plus: parents will be able to connect their own AI, like Claude or ChatGPT. It acts only as that parent, can't pay, delete or publish anything, and while you chat, your family's tasks and children's first names go to the AI company you chose. You can disconnect it at any time.

Money

Ghaya never holds or moves money, and never asks for bank or card details. Pocket money and cash-outs are records your family keeps. Plus is paid through Apple, and we never see your card.

Your choices

  • Download everything about your family, free, from Settings.
  • Delete your account from inside the app. If you're the only parent, the whole family is deleted.
  • Helpers and a second parent can leave the family whenever they like.
  • We don't sell your family's data, show ads, or use third-party tracking in the app.
  • Your data is stored securely by our hosting provider, Supabase, encrypted in transit and at rest.
